Jingles

Jingles was actually supposed to be for my parents. At the time, I saw this small, light gray kitten while I was working at Petsmart, where a rescue group had animals available for adoption. Whenever I got a break at work, I spent time with her, and she was such a sweetheart. I was told she was the runt of the litter and that her siblings bullied her, which is why her whiskers were so short at the time. I fell in love with her and decided to keep her for myself. She greeted me every time I woke up, and I would say to her, “Good morning, Jingles,” and she always replied back. Even at the end of her life, she loved her treats, Redi‑Whip, and licking me with her sandpaper tongue, like she was saying, “Thank you, Mama.” You’re so welcome, sweet girl, and thank you for letting me love you.
